NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- The Freeman Center will play host to the Captains Invitational & Multis this weekend, the second Indoor Track & Field Meet of the season for Christopher Newport. Field events begin at approximately 9:00 am with track events beginning at 11:00 am. It is the last meet before the first USTFCCA Regional Rankings are released next week.

Christopher Newport will feature a pair of returning All-Americans this weekend, including Richard Roethel who finished third in the Indoor Pentathlon last season. This year, Division III has added two events on the men's side, making it a Heptathlon. In last year's National Championship Meet, Roethel won the High Jump and added a pair of top four finishes in the 55M Hurdles and Shot Put.

The other returning All-American for the Captains this year is senior Dira Hansen. Hansen was an All-American in the 800M last season and will run in that event on Saturday. She will also run in the 200M Hurdles and as a member of the Distance Medley.

The meet includes Division I programs like UNC Wilmington, The Citadel, Winston-Salem State and Elon, along with several Division III programs as well. Results will be available at CNUsports.com following each day's events, and can also be found here.
